Brad Gross - Memorial Science Page
Showcasing all his favourite shows & experiments. So very missed.
Brad The B in BLAST, Brad was the driving force behind the company from its inception until his untimely death in 2017. He loved nothing more than being on a stage, larking about and entertaining and educating children about the wonders of Science. He made a living out of this for more than 15 years in one form or another and was a born performer and a self-taught scientist. Brad - who hailed from New York - was a former London Science Museum Presenter and Head of Science Outreach at Herstmonceux Observatory in Sussex, not to mention underwater welder, teacher, TV presenter, landscaper, jazz musician and too many other ridiculous jobs to mention. Brad devised the Materials, Forces, Space and Sound Shows and co-wrote the Gross and Rock Shows. The Totally Gross show is of course named after him!
He was both a Director and Performer in Blast Science and particularly loved the more dangerous experiments involving fire, loud bangs and lots of audience reaction. Alongside this Brad played as a highly talented jazz drummer in a host of Hastings-based bands. He liked 1950s tweed suits, proper coffee and Star Wars. He is hugely missed and his legacy lives on in Blast Science.
Brad's favourite finale - FIRE!
